Fishing guide Jon Conklin said the cooler water has improved fishing for a variety of species.
Bass fishing is good with many 20lbs being caught. Try the Prairie Creek area, the Arkansas 12 bridge area and the waters south of there. Breeding fish or shad is the best way to catch stripers. Conklin said many of his recent customers have caught their first striper.
Fishing has improved for crappie, Conklin said. Fish around the brush with jigs or fish 17 feet deep or less. Cover many brushes. Some brushes will have crap schools and some won’t. A template with a black body and a chartreuse tail is a good color. Use crankbaits on jerk baits for black bass along points or shorelines with a mix of gravel and rock. The average water temperature at the surface is between 50 and 50 degrees.
Southtown Sporting Goods, in Fayetteville, suggests trying fish with jigs or cabinets around a bush seven to 20 feet deep. Bass are migrating to the south end of the lake. Try crankbaits for trolling, fry or shad.
Beaver tail water
Fishing guide Austin Kennedy said increased power generation at Beaver Dam has made boating safer. Fish for trout with prepared bait such as Pautzke Fire Bait or Power Bait. Use light material. The area around Houseman Access is fishing well.
For walleye, fish between Beaver City and Holiday Island. Try minnows or soft plastic lures near the bottom 10 to 15 feet deep.
Lake Fayetteville
Lake Fayetteville Marina recommends fishing with hairline or tube rigs. Try a variety of depths.
Sequoyah Lake
Angler Mike McBride reports little fishing activity. Try black bass on spinnerbaits or jerkbaits. Use fish or machines for shit.

Chip Wiseman at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista recommends fishing any lake in Bella Vista. Minnows are the best bait. Fish six to 12 feet deep around brush. For black bass, try a spinnerbait, a jig, and a plastic pig or worm. Go with Power Bait, worms or small spoons for trout fishing in Lake Brittany.

Siloam Springs,
Crystal lakes
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs recommends walleye fishing with minnows 10 to 12 feet deep.
Lake Swepco
Stroud suggests fishing for black bass on Ned rigs, suspending lures or small plastic worms on a drop-shot rig.
Eastern Oklahoma
Stroud recommends fishing Lake Eucha for rockfish with fish or rigs in 12 to 15 feet around the brush. Try jerkbaits, Alabama rigs, or jigs and hogs for black bass.
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair fishing on Grand Lake for bass on crankbaits around brush, rocks and docks. Crappies are clearly biting on the hairpins around the brush and docks. Blue catfish can be caught with chicken liver or halibut.
On Lake Tenkiller, walleyes are biting fairies on rigs or plastic worms around brush, rocks or docks. Crappie are biting fair fish, rigs or worms around brush and docks.
Table Rock Lake
Focus Fishing Guide Service said black bass fishing is good. Fish 30 to 50 feet deep near the bottom or above treetops where there is shade with a jigging spoon, drop-shot rig or Scope Spin.
Try crankbaits or jig and hogs on windy days along transition banks, rock banks or gravel points. Many smallmouth bass are being caught this way. The lake between the Baxter and Big M areas has been good. Fishing should be good for the next four to six weeks.
