Cypress, CA – Hitting stores in time for the holiday season, the reimagined Daiwa Jumper LW The coil series offers a fresh new look and innovative technological improvements to improve performance.
Long the standard when it comes to affordable level wind trolling reels that can take a saltwater pounding, tame Great Lakes trout, and salmon, or muscle out a muskie, the revamped series lives up to its reputation for being extremely reliable while increasing efficiency and an improved drag system all wrapped up in a light setting of crisp charcoal on blue.
Designed specifically for big water action in the Great Lakes region and marine applications, Daiwa Saltist LW reels offer the perfect combination of line capacity, durability, and performance for line or mono fishing.
A rigid aluminum frame and side plate keep everything in precise alignment, while Daiwa Digigear engineering ensures perfect meshing between the ultra-strong drive gear and pinion gears to optimize speed, power, and durability.
Simply turn the comfortably large handle and you’ll instantly feel everything come together in smooth, silent rotation.
“Our updated Saltist LW series of wind-level reels are designed to catch the biggest and most determined fish in your waters,” says Marc Mills, Daiwa’s Senior Marketing Manager. “Although light for its size, its strong aluminum frame serves as the solid base needed to tighten up lunkers gone wild. Now they also feature Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) . This system employs an improved drag grease with low idle viscosity that becomes more viscous the moment the spool starts spinning. The end result is a super smooth drag with low initial inertia and the ability to slow down or redirecting a big fish when you need to prove you’re the boss.”
Ideal for open-water fishing throughout the Great Lakes region or in the bay, sound, and ocean waters, the Saltist LW Series offers insane-level wind performance, easy operation, plus the power and smooth drag needed to stop any fish in its tracks.
“Charter captains also love them because inexperienced customers never have to worry about getting the line evenly through the spool,” adds Mills. “That can be a real plus on rough days when the fish are hitting fast and furious.”
Saltist LW reels come in sizes W20 to W50. All feature 5 ball bearings (2CRBB+2BB+2RB) for smooth performance and a gear ratio of 6.1:1 or 6.4:1 depending on the model. Line retrieve speed per handle turn is 35 or 47.2 inches per spin, while reel weights range from 18.5 to 24 ounces.
The series also offers impressive line capacities ranging from 12/420 to 40/310 for mono and 40/260 to 50/630 for Daiwa J-Braid. Maximum drag ranges from 15.4 pounds for size 20 and 30 reels to 20 pounds for size 40 and 50 models. MSRP on all sizes is $199.99.
Now available, The Saltist LW reels are a great way to upgrade or strengthen your trolling arsenal. They’ll also make great holiday gifts for serious fishing friends and family.
