North shore fishing spot help needed

Hi Rich,

A neighbor with 2 young ones just got a boat and has been trying to catch some fish with the kids. So far no luck. He's moored up in Cold Spring Harbor. Any suggestions on areas or spots for him to try that are not too far from port?

Thanks, Steve

Read out North shore reports on our main site at www.thefishingline.com for info but almost anywhere two rocks meet will give him al the porgies he can handle and non stop action

With the kids, I'd suggest anchoring up over a high spot on the rip off of Eaton's Neck and targeting Porgies using clam bait. I tried that for the first time last week and had about two dozen keeper sized Porgies.
