Hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation show celebrates 40 years in Suffern

Suffern, NY: Anyone looking to plan their next great outdoor adventure or simply to gear up for fishing and hunting in the northeast should attend the World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition from March 2-5 at the SUNY Rockland Community College Field House in Suffern, NY. “The Suffern Show,” as it’s known to its many loyal patrons, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and continues to be one of the most popular outdoor shows in the East. Avid outdoor enthusiasts will be able to find the latest gear, book a dream outdoor experience, and have a great time with the entire family. There is something for everyone at this show!

“The World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition is celebrating its 40th anniversary and it continues to provide everyone who loves the outdoors with the best consumer show in the region,” commented the show’s director, Tod Alberto. “We have activities and giveaways for the kids, seminars teaching the latest techniques throughout the weekend, and the best equipment, lodges and taxidermists to ensure all attendees are prepared for their adventures this year. The special deals offered at this show aren’t available anywhere else so anyone with a passion for the outdoors can find exactly what they need to make this year their best ever.”

Presented by Stihl and the National Marine Manufacturers Association, the World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition boasts 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art fishing and hunting gear, camping equipment, travel destinations, and much more. This year will feature top bass anglers Mike Iaconelli, Gerald Swindle, and Brandon Palaniuk who headline a who’s who of well-known local anglers offering workshops at the 5,000-gallon “Hawg Trough.” Once again, Saturday is Saltwater Superday and Sunday is Whitetail Superday featuring non-stop seminars from the region’s top experts on these topics. Serious sportsmen and women will appreciate having manufacturers showing their latest equipment, and the opportunity to purchase the latest gear from local retailers. New to the show this year is Fred’s Shed where showgoers can learn tips and techniques for do-it-yourself boat maintenance.

But the World Fishing & Outdoor Expo isn’t just for sportsmen and women, the four-day show will provide non-stop action for the entire family. Everyone will enjoy trying their hand at the fishing simulator and will be entertained by Two by Two Zoo’s live animals and the Talons! birds of prey exhibitions. Sunday is Family Day with a scavenger hunt for the kids, and the first 100 children (11 and under) to the show will receive a free Plano tackle box.

The World Fishing & Outdoor Expo is a can’t miss event for everyone who enjoys the great outdoors. Tickets are $13.00 for adults and $3.00 for children ages 5 to 11. Children under age 5 are admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.sportshows.com/suffern.
