Van Staal

Rich,
What can you tell us about the new Van Staal VM 150 that was just released.? I know you owned a VS before. Have you been able to compare the new release to yours?
Costing half the price of the VS models I am wondering whether it is water-proof. I also want some recommendations about matching it to my 11ft Loomis given the small reel size.
If it makes sense I certainly would like to put that in my Christmas wish list.
Thanks.

Personally I know little about the VS's as I don;t use them and sold the one I had shortly after buying it used. Unless I was swimming and to rocks in Montauk and continuously dunking the reel I don't know if I'd spend the $$$'s I have been using Penn 704's for 30 years and continue to do so.
