April 1-3

Capt. Nick Manzari of the Island Princess reports Sunday they sailed both trips and had fish both trips. The morning trip had 20 people and four fish while the afternoon trip had four fish for 15 people or so. Monday afternoon they flounder fished and a handful of people saw two fish in 35 knot winds out of the northwest. Tuesday (4/3) afternoon they had eight anglers and it was blowing, just not as bad, but they did have one flounder of 3-1/2 pounds.

There are a few flounder swimming around and if we get that warm weather again the fish will respond as last year when they had 30 fish trips in April in 2011. They sail at 7 a.m. and noon every day. The boat is all spiffy and ready for you folks to enjoy another great season on the Island Princess.

Fri-Sunday 4/13-15

Captree
Island Princess (631-587-6024): Capt. Bryan Sorice of the Island Princess said they are hammering flounder and limiting out. Friday (4/13) 35 people in the morning had all the fish they wanted had some had 15 keeper flounder caught and kept their limit. In the afternoon another 40 anglers hammered the flounder...all you could muster and the SW breeze didn't slow it down either although they did battle with some dogfish heavy at times. Saturday they had good fishing in the morning with 22 people and 40 flounder in the ocean.

Sunday’s action wasn’t so bad either as a light crowd in the morning picked away in a snotty ocean to the tune of 22 large jumbo flounder and the afternoon trip saw about the same number of fish if not a couple more. They will try to get into the ocean for flounder every chance they get...and these are big barn door tackle busting flounder too! They sail at 7 a.m. and noon every day. The boat is all spiffy and ready for you folks to enjoy another great season on the Island Princes.
